I wanted to talk a bit further about 'good' and 'bad' dreams, as many people assume that all 'good' dreams are from God and all 'bad' dreams are from the enemy.
But I am here to say, "Not so."
If you have a dream or vision FROM the Lord, it WILL be IN LINE with the WORD of God AND His character. If it is not, it might just be your own processing of life, thoughts, emotions, hormones, etc., (whether good or bad). It could also be a dream from the enemy (a dream that causes fear, intimidation, and/or pleasure in sin.)
But here's the catch-WAKE UP READER-Not all 'feel good' dreams are from God....and not all 'bad dreams' are from the enemy. For the most part, 'yes.' But you need to really get to the heart and spirit of a dream in order to discern its purpose.
Let me give you an example of both.
I've had 'feel good' dreams...that at the time were pleasurable. But when I woke up, I knew they were sinful because the 'act' was either sinful, or the feelings they stirred up in me were sinful (lust, vanity, rage, etc.)....might 'feel good' to the flesh at the time, but it's fruit is poisin to our spirit and if not dealt with and brought before the throne of God and laid bare, it could impede in your own personal walk with the Lord.
One thing here I urge you. Beware of the enemies plan to devour you and to do whatever he can to seperate you from your Lord and cause a fall.
In dreams like these, the enemy likes to do either of two things (possibly more);
1.) Bring instant shame and embarrassment to the individual, so that the person tries to shake the dream loose and deny it-to try and forget it because of the pain, fear, or embarrassment it causes. I urge you Christian sister and brother-do not!
Or, 2.) Allow you to dismiss it idlly and without a thought of botherment with beliefs of,' 'it's not real', 'it didn't really happen,' 'I didn't really do that,' and much worse for some of us, to allow our dreams as a place to escape and sin in freely believing it won't affect them...a 'free for all' to allow all of our sinful desires to run freely in. In turn, creating a dulling and numbness to our spiritual sensitivity between darkness and light.
*This 'freedom of sin in dreaming' is a lie and deception that I believe too many Christians fall for through denial of what is truly happening. Our spirits are alive and moving when we sleep and the choices in our dreams WILL affect us and our walk. I'm speaking here of lucid dreaming specifically, where you are aware you're sleeping, and can choose to do things or go places in your dreams. (This is not to be confused with spiritual attack dreams where the dream begins in a dark place already, sinful things included, and you can't escape even when you choose to do so.)
Every area of our lives need to be laid bare before our merciful and compassionate All-Knowing King. Our Father, our Abba, Jesus. I know the temptation is great to press a 'feel good' (but not) dream like this down and away, but do not. As, 'You have tested my thoughts and examined my heart in the night.' Psalm 17:3 There is nothing He does not already know about you! Bring it before our Lord and ask Him what it's about? "Is there a sin in my life, current or past that I need to repent about? A door or window left open to the enemy that needs closing? A generational sin that needs to be repented of and broken off?" Ask Him what it's roots are about and then leave it with HIM to deal with and bring revelation to you about. For Our Lord is sovereign and faithful to take care of us in ALL...especially in the UNknowing.
For the reader who struggles with nightmares, pray before you go to sleep to have the Lord with you training you to take captive your thoughts and to refute the enemy, as we Christians are called to "bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ," 2 Cor. 10:5 and to "cast down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God" 2 Cor. 10:5 and He 'will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!' Isaiah 26:3 I beleive this is truth in ALL realms as the Lord is Lord of all, no matter the darkness. His truth transcends space, time, and reality, as He IS the TRUTH-literally.
....and on the reciprical....
I've had 'bad dreams' that woke me up in cold sweats with my heart pounding near out of my chest....that were from God. (Like my 'Foot in Both Worlds' dream found on the right hand side of this blog). I've found in life that when we are in sin , disobedience, or danger and are refusing to repent or listen to our Father's voice in our daily lives, He will, by His compassion, love, and grace He has for us, get our attention in a dream.
These are warning dreams. To alert an individual of sin or darkness in their life, to bring revelations OF that darkness, so that, by His grace and GREAT mercy, we can repent and/or close open doors to the enemy from our past or present.
Ezekiel 3:19
If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins.
2 Corinthians 7:10
For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.
I will be sharing some of these dreams in the near future to help you better understand His great love and mercy for us, for even while IN sin and not knowing Him, He FIRST loved us, and has come to bring FULL salvation, of our entire being and spirit-Hallelujah!.....WOW!
And-oh! Dear brother and sister, I am SO greatful for a God who has continued to forgive me IN my sin WHILE knowing Him. My heart pangs that I still at times stumble in sin, but do not give up! For sin becomes less and less as we choose OBEDIENCE and the bonds of sin are broken as He grows, transforms, and delivers us through our relationship with Him, by the blood of Jesus Christ-so there is hope IN Him!
But-DO take warning to sin in your life. Do not allow any seeds of sin or darkness to take root by turning a blind eye to your own person, as "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?"Jeremiah 17:9
I pray you have peaceful dreaming full of GOOD and SWEET things :D For a place to focus on 'taking captive the thoughts of our minds,' I like to meditate on one of my favorite scriptures;
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

I got your comment in my email, but it was deleted. Aww, why? I hope you don't think all of my writing is dark. Most of my post are thoughts as an aspiriing Christian author. My current wip is similar to Lord of the ring-in the sense that it is fiction fantasy, but with heavy Christian roots.
And about that post today. It just got me frustrated that he would be preaching ignorance to so many people. It's one thing to mis understand the bible, because I could see where people would get confused. But he needs to be learning the bible not preaching his false/half truths.
Anyways, I am glad you found my blog, please read some other posts...they aren't all gore :) And I will be following your blog.
Wow, for once I am getting like minds. I am truly inspired by your blogs. Thank you
Hi Amber, thanks for stopping by! I only deleted my comment as I am attempting to break a bad habit of writing before pondering and digesting things more before I speak- and I had just rambled that one off on a hormonal day ;)
As for that particular piece of writing you wrote being too dark for me, no. I actually believe it's important for Christians to recognize that there truly is a time for 'war and a time for peace,' and not to continue in a walk of naivity or denial-a 'phoo phoo walk,'-which is usually most evident in man-made religion and the occult being welcomed in, i.e, mass forward e-mails of 'if you forward this e-mail to 10 people today your prayers will be answered' and such.
I am extremely sensitive to dark and light things, and find the enemy hidden amongst both (disguised as light). And so, I'm learning to 'walk and speak' much slower. :)
Thanks for writing and I hope you get a chance to check out my "End of Days Deceptions" dream I had for the Body of Christ in these End Times-I think you would appreciate it.
And to "Creating A New Mindset"...'having like minds' in the Body of Christ is a GOOD thing-awesome.
I have been having dreams from the Lord for a number of years now. The most vivid dream I think I ever had was in 2006--it was about an earthquake in Las Vegas.
